U.S Army Freedom Team Salute Program at the Kennedy Center - Washington, DC
At a ceremony on Sunday, May 25, 2008, at the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington, DC, actor Mickey Rooney was given the Freedom Team Salute, which recognizes individuals for their support of America's Soldiers. Mr. Rooney has also received the Bronze Star for valor during WWII. Miss America 2008 Kirsten Haglund, Lieutenant General Jack C. Stultz, Chief of the Army Reserve, Command Sergeant Major Leon Caffie and Colonel David Griffith were all in attendance.
