Army Reserve Commemorates its 100th Anniversary at MAC Tools US Nationals NHRA Race - Indianapolis, Indiana
The U.S. Army Reserve commemorated its 2008 centennial over Labor Day weekend at O'Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis, IN, which hosted the prestigious NHRA MAC Tools U.S. Nationals. Fans witnessed Army driver Tony Schumacher become the NHRA Top Fuel dragster, and tie for most wins in NHRA history. Schumacher needed win number 52 to tie Joe Amato on the all-time win list. Home to more than 1,400 Army Reserve Soldiers, Indianapolis is also the home to a new Combat Tracker Canine Program, which helps save lives by tracking missing or hostage friendly force personnel as well as enemy combatants. A total of 65 stories ran online regarding the NHRA event and Combat Tracker Canine Program which resulted in 1,923,761 media impressions.
