Army Reserve Commemorates 100th Anniversary at O'Reilly Super Start Batteries NHRA Fall Nationals - Dallas, Texas
The U.S. Army Reserve commemorated its 100th Anniversary on 20 September 2008 at the Texas Motorplex, which hosted the O'Reilly Super Start Batteries NHRA Fall Nationals and featured Army driver Tony Schumacher. Major General Keith Thurgood, Commander, U.S. Army and Air Force Exchange Service, attended the race and was interviewed about the Army Reserve centennial by the NHRA announcer over the loud speaker to more than 33,000 fans. Major General Keith Thurgood also spoke at the Centers of Influence (COI) function along with Army driver Tony Schumacher. A total of 84 stories ran online resulting in 2,022,357 media impressions.
