Days of '47 Parade - Salt Lake City
To commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the U.S. Army Reserve, Major General Peter Cooke, Brigadier General Lie-Ping Chang, and Chief Warrant Officer James Thompson marched with Army Reserve troops in the Days of '47 Parade in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 24, 2008. Leading the troops was a Color Guard dressed in period Army Reserve uniforms, spanning from WWI through current day. The 312th Army Reserve Band marched and played during the parade as well. Sixteen stories ran in various media outlets regarding the Centennial Celebration and Days of '47 events reaching a total audience of 1,087,464. Brigadier General Lie-Ping Chang was interviewed by the local CBS station KUTV and Major General Cooke was interviewed by the local NBC station KSL-TV
