Sergeant Juan Leon
Sergeant Juan Leon, age 34, is currently serving at Camp Cropper in Iraq, coordinating supplies and logistics for the military. He has received the Army Achievement Medal. Born and raised in Peru, Leon became a United States citizen, and then decided to join the Army Reserve in 2002. He says, "I am very proud to be serving my new country." Leon's father served in the Peruvian Army for 30 years and is able to offer him advice about military life. He speaks to family nearly everyday and most looks forward to returning home to see them. Leon was one of 100 Soldiers to re-enlist in the Army Reserve on January 18, 2008, during a special 100th Anniversary ceremony that took place in Baghdad, Iraq.
