Lieutenant Colonel Teresa Pendleton
Lieutenant Colonel Teresa Pendleton has served in the military for over 30 years, including three years of active duty and over 27 years of Reserve duty. She has worked as a Transportation Officer since receiving her commission from the Reserve Officer's Training Corps at the University of Kansas in 1984. Pendleton has served in a variety of units including boat transportation companies, port terminal battalions, a quartermaster battalion, readiness training groups, and theater logistical commands.

Pendleton is currently serving in Iraq as the Knowledge Management Chief with the 316th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), the first Expeditionary Sustainment Command in the new modular Army. Her unit provides logistical support to all military and civilian forces in Iraq. The best part of Pendleton's military career has been the people she has worked with over the years and the self-confidence gained through serving. She believes that today, Americans better understand the importance of the U.S. Army Reserve in the overall U.S. military force structure and the defense of America, and why people volunteer to be in the Army Reserve.

When not serving on active duty, Pendleton resides in central Virginia with her husband, David Compton. Pendleton's family has a history of military service with both brothers, one sister, paternal grandfather and father serving in the U.S. Army, spanning seven decades from WW II to Operation Iraqi Freedom. Her father served in the Kansas National Guard and Army Reserves from the 1950s through the 1970s, retiring as a Master Sergeant. One brother served on active duty and in Army Reserve and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2004. Pendleton is originally from Kansas, where much of her family still resides.
